ESET NOD32 Software Keeps Malware at Bay and Earns A+ from 36 Schools in Arizona

SAN DIEGO – November 28, 2006 – ESET, the leader in proactive threat protection, today announced that Deer Valley Unified School District (USD) has selected ESET NOD32 Antivirus software as the default antivirus solution for its 36 K-12 schools located in Phoenix and five neighboring cities. Currently, ESET software is deployed district-wide across 6,000 personal computers and has been responsible for removing all traces of previous malware infections that plagued the school district prior to switching to ESET. Since implementing ESET software in June of 2005, no computers have been compromised at Deer Valley USD, resulting in an increase in network uptime and end-user productivity for the schools. The deployment of ESET NOD32 software is expected to reach 12,000 computers by 2009.

Ideal for distributed deployments such as large school districts, Deer Valley selected ESET NOD32 Antivirus software as it can be centrally managed, automatically updates end-user devices without impacting performance and offers the highest level of proactive protection that stops new forms of malware before impacting the network. ESET was selected to replace a competing antivirus solution that failed to provide efficient and effective signature updates, resulting in end-user disruption, incomplete protection from emerging threats and slowed network performance.

「ESET's solution has been instrumental in allowing us to monitor 6,000 PCs against threats that could have a harmful effect on our network,」 said Dave Hatfield, district manager of technical services. "I feel extremely confident that Deer Valley USD is now receiving the most progressive anti-malware solution available on the market today. We have not had to deal with a single infection in our network since deploying ESET NOD32."

"Deer Valley's decision to switch to ESET is further validation that our solution is ideal for large deployments requiring streamlined management and unmatched advanced heuristics capabilities that stop emerging threats in their tracks," said Rick Moy, vice president of marketing, ESET, LLC. "Since implementing ESET NOD32, Deer Valley has reaped great benefits in terms of overall improved security and cost-savings from increased worker productivity. We are pleased to be working with Deer Valley and are committed to ensuring the district's experience with ESET is positive."

ESET NOD32 Antivirus version 2.5 utilizes ThreatSense® technology, a sophisticated detection system based on advanced heuristics, to proactively identify previously unknown viruses, Trojans, spyware and phishing attacks in real time. ThreatSense is built into ESET NOD32's single scanning engine to provide comprehensive protection so users do not need to rely on additional point solutions for spyware and adware protection.
